The Power of Self-Reflection: Our Business Planning Session 2024
We had our Yorke Stone business planning session 24th April 2024 with Mark Jenkins from 2020 Business Dynamics who is also one of the founding members of The Gap. The Gap is a moden accounting firms business advisory portal. We have been a member of The Gap since 2020.
While we work as the independent facilitator to build our clients business plans it is also best to have an independent facilitator to help us build ours. Mark got his hands full with the task of bringing four individuals (Dan, Nancy, Tui and Flynn) thoughts and ideas together through some relection questions, go through our current financials and set targets, accountability actions to execute by due dates to achieve our goals for the next 12 months to 5 years.
Some of the reflection questions you can use on yourself and your team to get the ball rolling :
- What are you most proud of in the last financial year?
- What was the worst thing, or biggest failure?
- What is the most valuable thing you've learnt?
- What do you wish you had done more of?
- What do you wish you done less of?
- What skills could you better utilise this year?
- What does success look like for you this financial year?
The successes we want for Yorke Stone in the next 12 months to 5 years are:
- achieve our turnover targets.
- achieve net profit %
- achieve Working Capital target.
- achieve the number of engaged team members we want to employ.
- Reviewing our organisational chart to clarify roles and lines of communication to cater to our growth.
- The number of great clients we want to work with.
- Who are they, who are our ideal clients.
- Our Brand Promise - what do our clients what us to do for them and our client survey last year says.
Our clients want us to be:
- Responsive to their needs
- Supportive and a to help achieve your goals
- Personalised service.
Naturally our marketing strategy falls out of our finalised business plan.
