We all know how Covid-19 has impacted our economy and our businesses. Some businesses have experienced a growth, others a downturn and the struggle to keep staff employed and the business open is very real for others.
We can speculate what the longterm impact Covid-19 will have on our businesses, our economy and that of the rest of the world. My approach to this is, if you are good at what you do and you are innovative and constantly looking at how to improve your services then it doesn’t matter what the economy is doing, its survival of the strongest.
The way I see it, business owners that have developed strong relationships, good systems behind them and a strong business model will continue to have work moving forward. Businesses running their business on the back of a robust economy will need to revisit the way that they do things.
I think the biggest learning for us is to talk to the right people. Know your source of information, the media is not always right. Find out what your industry is doing by connecting with the right people.
Surround yourself with the right people to help you navigate your way through this. Most importantly, talk to your accountants. Help your accountant understand your current situation, where you want to go and be prepared to help them get you there. Finally, we made it this far. Find the opportunity, innovate and talk to the right people. Don’t give up!
