Flynn’s Crunching Numbers and Crunching Reps
Flynn joined Yorke Stone as a Chartered Accountant back in February. He was tipping the scales at around 66/67 kg. With no particular fitness goals in mind other than to 'fill out more,' he decided to give the gym a shot—thanks in no small part to a friendly nudge (okay, maybe a drag) from Dan.
Flash forward 3.5 months, and Flynn’s transformation is nothing short of inspiring. Pumping Iron has become his new playground, and he's bulked up to a solid 74 kg. Not bad for someone who had never set foot in a gym before starting this adventure!
His Goal:
At first, Flynn’s gym visits were more about exploration than expectation. But soon enough, he found a purpose: becoming strong. Taking a cue from his personal trainer Dale. Flynn set his sights on some pretty ambitious goals—deadlifting twice his body weight and bench pressing 1.5 times his body weight.
Flynn’s journey isn’t just about lifting weights; it’s about lifting his own potential. From crunching numbers in the office to crunching reps in the gym, he’s proving that with a bit of dedication and some peer support, amazing transformations are more than possible. Who knows, we might soon see Flynn hitting that 80 kg body weight milestone and beyond.
So, where’s he at now?
Flynn’s already pulling a whopping 120 kg in deadlifts and benching a cool 80 kg. While he still has some ground to cover to reach his ultimate targets, he’s clearly on the right track and smashing it.
Flynn shares “I’m loving the changes I’m seeing! I might actually need to snag some new clothes a size up because everything’s starting to feel snug. Even my old trusty bike jacket, the one I’ve had since I was 19, is feeling tight in places it’s never been tight before.
Diet
As for my diet, I’m keeping it pretty simple but packing it with lots of food. Lunch is usually a gigantic bowl of rice and tuna because, let’s be real, I’m not too picky about variety. On the supplements front, it's nothing too crazy. Just some protein powder, and I’ve recently gotten serious about including creatine over the past couple of weeks.
So, yeah, things are moving, shaking, and tightening up in all the right ways!
The Challenging bit
🎉💪Oh man, one of the tough parts has been carving out the time for workouts – huge shoutout to my Personal Trainer (PT) for helping with that. And let me tell you, those first two months of feeling constantly stuffed until my body adjusted to the new diet was no joke.
I've never been a gym junkie, so heading to the gym used to feel like such a chore. Funny enough, now if I skip a couple of days, I start craving another workout session. Who would've guessed?
Oh, and bonus – I think I’m sleeping better! My wife Zoe keeps telling me I'm snoring every night now, so there's that. 😴 she’s also jealous that I now have an ass. Lol
Keep pushing those limits Flynn, both in the gym and in the office. We’re cheering you on! Your commitment and progress are an inspiration to us all.
